The Cast Steel Globe Valve with Pressure Seal Bonnet is a high-integrity valve engineered for flow control and throttling service in demanding high-pressure, high-temperature applications across power generation, oil and gas, petrochemical, and steam system pipelines. The pressure seal bonnet operates on a self-energising principle, as internal line pressure rises, the bonnet gasket load increases proportionally, producing a tighter, more reliable seal at exactly the conditions where bonnet joint integrity is most critical. This characteristic makes it the preferred design choice over conventional bolted bonnets for Class 600 and above service, where elevated temperatures and pressures would otherwise require impractically large fastener assemblies and heavier valve bodies to achieve equivalent sealing performance. Combined with its globe valve flow geometry, the valve delivers stable, controllable flow characteristics across the full stem travel range for precise regulation duties at high pressures.
Features
- Self-energising pressure seal bonnet tightens progressively as line pressure increases, delivering a leak-free bonnet joint under the most severe pressure and temperature conditions without dependence on external bolt load — eliminating the re-torquing maintenance associated with bolted bonnet designs in high-temperature service
- Seating surfaces hard-faced with Stellite 6 or equivalent alloy at a minimum 3mm deposit thickness, providing outstanding resistance to erosion, galling, and corrosion under high-velocity, high-pressure flow conditions and across wide temperature ranges typical of steam and critical process service
- Single-piece forged stem ensures superior tensile strength and fatigue resistance throughout the valve’s operating life, maintaining precise plug-to-seat positioning and reliable shutoff even under the high actuating forces required for high differential pressure service
- Unidirectional globe valve geometry provides predictable, stable flow characteristics at any intermediate stem position, making the valve equally suited to both on-off isolation and precision throttling or flow regulation duties
- Broad size and pressure class coverage from 2″ to 16″ across ASME Class 150 to 4500 addresses the full range of high-pressure service requirements, from moderate process duties through to critical power plant steam lines and high-pressure hydrocarbon service
- Flange connections to ASME B16.5 and alternative standards including BS, EN, DIN, and AWWA allow direct integration into international plant designs without requiring bespoke mating flanges or adaptor spools
