The Cast Steel Globe Valve with Bolted Bonnet is a unidirectional valve designed for both isolation and flow control service across oil and gas, power generation, refinery, chemical processing, water treatment, and steam applications. Unlike gate valves which operate only fully open or fully closed, the globe valve’s plug-to-seat geometry provides predictable, stable flow characteristics at any intermediate stem position, making it the preferred choice wherever throttling, flow regulation, or frequent operation is required. The integral seat ensures consistent plug seating geometry throughout the valve’s service life, while the bolted bonnet construction allows straightforward access to internals for inspection and maintenance without removing the valve from the pipeline. Available across a size range of ½” to 16″ and pressure classes from ASME 150 through 4500, the valve covers the majority of general and demanding process service requirements.
Features
- Integral seat machined directly into the valve body ensures precise, repeatable plug-to-seat alignment throughout the service life, eliminating the potential for seat ring loosening or misalignment that can develop with threaded or press-fit seat ring designs
- Single-piece forged stem delivers superior strength, fatigue resistance, and long cycle life compared to fabricated stems, automatically compensating for minor pipeline deflections and thermal deformations without transmitting bending loads to the packing or seat
- Smooth-finished stuffing box bore provides optimal contact with packing rings, ensuring superior gland sealing, reduced packing wear, and lower fugitive emission rates across both low- and high-temperature service
- Bolted bonnet construction allows straightforward field access to the plug, stem, seat, and packing for routine inspection and maintenance, supporting planned maintenance schedules and reducing valve downtime over a long operational life
- Pillar yoke construction provides unobstructed access to the bonnet flange and gland packing area on installed valves in congested pipework, making re-packing and bonnet bolt inspection practical without valve removal
- Multiple trim configurations available to suit varying process media, temperature ranges, and shutoff class requirements, with flange connections to ASME B16.5 and alternative standards including BS, EN, DIN, and AWWA for direct drop-in replacement across international plant designs
